Elder Paul C. Tidwell Sr., Founder and Pastor of Inspired Word Christian Fellowship was ordained in 1983 by Bishop Benjamin J. Crouch Sr., Presiding Bishop of the Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ Incorporated. Pastor Tidwell received his credentials in theology from Victory Bible College, Altadena California and Life Bible College, Glendale California. For seventeen years Pastor Tidwell served as an active and faithful member of Evangelistic Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Superintendent Charles E. Lollis, Pastor.  With pride and dedication he worked diligently in the positions of music ministry, Associate Elder, Trustee Board Member and YPWW Bible Study teacher.

While associated with the Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdictional, Pastor Tidwell served as District YPWW President for 12 years and First Assistant to the State YPWW President for ten years.  He also served (for 5 years) as the District Evangelist President inspiring young and old alike to dedicate their lives to Christ and serve him in sincerity and truth.

His dedication to God and the ministry combined with his unique, profound teaching and preaching of God’s Word under the anointing would not go unrecognized for long.  In 1987 Bishop Benjamin Crouch Sr. appointed Pastor Tidwell as an interim Pastor at Calvary Church of God in Christ, in Banning California.  There he and his family served faithfully for three years.
Upon completion of his three year assignment, in 1989 Pastor Tidwell and his family returned to Evangelistic Church of God in Christ and continued to work in the ministry until September 1995. 

In October of 1995 Pastor Tidwell was lead of God to move his membership to Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ, San Fernando California to assist Elder Benjamin Crouch Jr. (who was appointed Pastor of Christ Memorial Church of God in Christ after the passing of his father Bishop Benjamin Crouch Sr.).  After a brief period of time had elapsed, Elder Benjamin J. Crouch Jr. passed away and Elder Andrae Crouch was installed as Christ Memorial’s new Pastor.  Pastor Tidwell remained and served as an Associate Elder and Bible Study Teacher under the leadership of Elder Andrae Crouch until 1997.

In January of 1998 Pastor Tidwell answered God’s call to Pastor and as a result Inspired Word Christian Fellowship was born.  Reaching the lost at any cost Pastor Tidwell followed the vision that God set before him.  He began to reach the community through spreading the message of love and hope, which opened many doors to sharing the Word of God.  Being lead of God, His anointing and His ultimate wisdom has directed Pastor Tidwell to spend time with those in need of healing and deliverance, as a result God has Blessed him to lay hands on the sick and they recover.  He has made a tremendous impact on the City of Canoga Park and surrounding areas through involvement in community awareness and educational programs.  Inspired Word Christian Fellowship opened it’s doors on January 18, 1998 with eight family members.  In just a brief five years God’s membership has grown to approximately three hundred Blessed individuals on fire for God.

As a business entrepreneur with a Masters Degree in Computer Science, Pastor Tidwell shares his professional skills as a Systems Architect and Network Designer in computer technology with anyone who has a desire to learn.  He has opened the doors of his home and  offered computer training classes, absolutely free of charge to anyone in the community who had a desire to learn network support, Local Area Networking and Wide Area Networking, and Tech support services while his wife taught Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point classes.  As a result over forty individuals of various ethnic groups who attended the free course, are now established on jobs with companies such as Washington Mutual, Well Point, Blue Cross, Farmers Insurance, etc.
Together Pastor Tidwell and his lovely wife Evangelist Marilyn Tidwell share thirty four years of marriage.  From this union they are Blessed with two wonderful children, Keosha Marie (32), Paul Jr. (28), they also share the joy of a beautiful Grandson Shanden Jabrell.
Along with raising six nieces and nephews Christina, Tazanique, Anthony, Rachel, and twins Marc & Daeanaira.
